ANONYM
475 MAIN STREET | BEACON, NY

Fridman Gallery presents a performance at our Beacon location featuring ANONYM. The event is co-presented with the Howland Cultural Center and will take place outside on the lawn next to the gallery.
Art Song quartet ANONYM is the quietest band in NYC. Composed of Joanna Mattrey on viola, Sami Stevens on voice, Evan Allen on pump organ, and Simon Hanes on acoustic guitar, the group gives intimate, hauntingly personal renditions of original music, as well as interpretations ranging from Kurt Weill to Kermit The Frog. Having played together in Hanes' 18 piece Italian Soundtrack Pop band, Tredici Bacci, for almost a decade, ANONYM is a sharp aesthetic departure for the ensemble. Vacillating between pure sentimentality and a cheeky, rebellious treatment of the material, ANONYM is a chamber quartet for the modern era.
